ARCI Job Eligibility

Educational Qualification

1. SCIENTIST “G: Master’s degree in Physical Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent from a recognized University

Eligibility for Deputation: Scientists or Technologists working in the Central/State Governments/Universities/Recognized Research Institutions/Semi-government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations in India or abroad:

holding analogous posts; or
with 2 years service in posts in the pay level 13 A (pre-revised Rs. 37,400-67,000/-with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8,900/-) or equivalent
possessing the educational qualifications and experience

Experience: 15 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations out of which5 years should be in administering, planning, development, and coordination of R&D and related areas. He/She shall have expertise in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering fields.

2. SCIENTIST “B” (R&D): M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science OR B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University

3. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT “A": B.Sc. in Physical Sciences (Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science as one of the subjects) OR three (3) years full-time Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical/ Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/recognized Board of Technical Education of Central or State Government.

NOTE: Technical Assistant post is an entry-level post in the technical category, therefore candidates with higher qualifications such as M.Sc./B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E./M.S. etc., OR other than above specialization/branches, etc,. will not be considered

4. TECHNICIAN “A":

Matriculation/10th pass;
2 years full-time ITI in Electrical/Fitter trade from a recognized Board of Technical Education of Central or State Government; and
3 years of technical experience in Industry/R&D laboratories.

NOTE: Technician "A" is an entry-level post in the Technician category, therefore candidates with higher qualifications such as Diploma/B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E./M.S. etc., OR other than above specialization/branches, etc,. will not be considered.

5. Driver “A”:

Matriculation/10th pass/SSC.
Possession of a valid driving license to drive light and heavy vehicles.
Knowledge of motor mechanisms and the candidate should be able to rectify/remove minor defects in vehicles. AND
Experience driving a light vehicle for at least 3 years and a heavy vehicle for at least 6 years

NOTE: Driver "A" is an entry-level post in the Driver category, therefore candidates with higher qualifications such as Diploma/Degree/Post Graduates, etc., will not be considered.

Age Limit:

SCIENTIST “G": Not exceeding 58 years (for Deputation) and 50 years (for Direct Recruitment)
SCIENTIST “B” (R&D): Not exceeding 28 years
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT “A": Not exceeding 30 years
TECHNICIAN “A": Not exceeding 28 years
Driver “A”: Not exceeding 28 years
