Essential Qualifications
Hindi Officer (HO):
Master's degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject OR Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, from a recognized University.
Three years' experience in using terminology in Hindi and translation from English to Hindi or vice-versa. OR Three years' experience of teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English.
Junior Hindi Translator (JHT):
Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
Desirable Qualifications
Hindi Officer (HO):
Studied one of the languages other than Hindi included in the EIGHTH SCHEDULE of the constitution at 10th Level from a recognized board.
Administrative Experience.
Experience of organizing Hindi classes or workshops for noting drafting.
Junior Hindi Translator (JHT):
Knowledge at the level of Matriculation of one of the languages other than Hindi mentioned in the Eight Schedule of the Constitution.
Degree or Diploma in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
Job Requirements
Hindi Officer (HO):
Ensuring compliance with the Official Language Policy of the Central Government in CSIR.
Other related works as assigned by higher authorities from time to time.
Junior Hindi Translator (JHT):
Assist in the implementation of the official Language policy of Government of India.
Translate official correspondences/Scientific literatures/ documents/ records etc. from English to Hindi and vice-Versa.
Assist in preparation of / submit reports & returns.
Any other work as assigned by Higher Authorities from time to time.
Selection Process
Hindi Officer: Written Examination followed by Interview (75:25 weightage).
Written exam: 2 hours, 300 marks, MCQ type, Hindi medium, negative marking (1/3 mark deduction per wrong answer).
Junior Hindi Translator: Open written competitive examination (Paper-I and Paper-II)
Age Limit & Relaxation
Age Limit: 35 years for Hindi Officer, 30 years for Junior Hindi Translator (UR candidates).
Age Relaxation:
5 years for regular employees working in Council/Government/Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings.
As per Government of India/CSIR rules for SCs/STs/OBCs and other categories.
