NHSRC Job Opportunity: Consultant Roles and Responsibilities in Health Policy
Support states in strengthening their planning and HRH management practices.
Develop guidance notes and policy briefs on planning, program management, Human Resources for Health.
Review publicly available data related to HRH and prepare reports. Conduct regular reviews of recruitment and monitor vacancy.
Monitor the HRH status of assigned states and facilitate implementation of IPHS and related directives.
Conduct field visits for monitoring and provide supportive supervision.
Appraise Programme Implementation Plans (PIP) and provide recommendations.
Collect data from states as per the Ministry's requirements.
Prepare concept notes for studies, conduct studies, collect data, analyze, and prepare study reports.
Prepare responses for queries and RTI received.
Provide technical assistance in areas related to health systems strengthening.
Maintain a database of relevant documents and data.
Work closely with lead and senior consultants.
Undertake other assignments as required.
Educational Qualifications for Health Policy Consultant Job at NHSRC
MBBS/ BDS/ Nursing/ Bachelor of Science/ BA- Economics/ Bachelor of Commerce with a full-time 2 years post-graduation in one of the following:
Master's in Public Health (MPH)
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Public Health Management
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Healthcare Administration
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Health/ Hospital Management
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma/ MBA in Personal Management
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma/ MBA in HR Management
NHSRC Job Requirements: Experience Needed for Consultant Position
For MBBS candidates: Master's in Public Health or relevant PG Degree/ Diploma with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in the public health sector. Preference will be given to those who have practiced medicine or have been part of NHM.
For non-MBBS candidates: At least 2 years of post-qualification work experience in public health is required. Candidates with consulting experience, especially those who have worked on State/MoHFW assignments are preferred.
Work experience/Competence in the area of planning particularly at National/ State/ district/ block level for health or health systems strengthening would be an advantage.

Understanding of Human Resources for Health and other health issues in the Indian context.
Computer proficiency with familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Internet savvy for research.
Excellent writing and analytical skills.
