Nationality: Candidates must be either:
A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal
A subject of Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962

Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years as on 1st January, 2025
Age Relaxations:
Up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates
Up to 3 years for OBC candidates
Up to 3 years for Defence Services personnel disabled in operations
Up to 5 years for Ex-servicemen
Up to 10 years for PwBD candidates
Educational Qualification:
A degree in Engineering from a recognized University in India.
Passing Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India).
A degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized foreign University/College/Institution.
Passing Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).
Passing Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India.
Passing Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London (held after November, 1959).

Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st January, 2025.
General Category: 21-30 years
SC/ST: 21-35 years
OBC: 21-33 years
PwBD: 21-40 years

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) 2024 Selection Process
Stage I (Preliminary Examination):
Objective type papers (General Studies & Engineering Aptitude and Engineering Discipline Specific).
The number of candidates qualifying for the Main Examination is around six to seven times the total number of vacancies.
Stage II (Main Examination):
Conventional type papers in Engineering Discipline Specific.
Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations to be eligible for the Personality Test.
Stage III (Personality Test):
Interview, carrying 200 marks.
The number of candidates shortlisted for the Personality Test is about twice the number of vacancies.
